Clear View — With All Links
Overview
Clear View — With All Links does a full reset of the active view and brings back every Revit Link that was hidden in it. It performs the same clean-up as the Preserve and Without Links variants (un-hiding manually hidden elements and model groups, showing model categories while hiding annotation, analytical, import/CAD, raster-image and reference-point categories, and clearing scope box, section box and crop), and then it shows the Revit Links master category, un-hides every hidden link instance, and clears any graphic overrides on them. It also deactivates all temporary view modes, so temporary isolates are cleared too. This is the full-reset choice for a clash-review session where you want the complete coordinated model back in one click. Nothing is deleted, it only changes what the view displays.
How links are restored
- The Revit Links master category is set visible in the view.
- Each link instance hidden by element-level Hide-in-View is un-hidden, and its graphic overrides are reset to default.
- This reverses both a category hide and anything the Without Links variant did, in one pass.
How it differs from the other variants
Preserve Links leaves your link setup untouched and Without Links hides every link, while With All Links brings all links back. It is also the only variant that deactivates all temporary view modes, so it clears temporary isolates for a genuine full reset, the right choice when you want the whole coordinated model back for review.
How to use
- Open the view you want to reset, then in the B45 Labs | Coordination tab open the Model Management panel and click Clear View — With All Links.
- If the view has a View Template, respond to the template prompt (the command aborts rather than edit a template that is not in Temporary View Properties mode).
- It performs the same clean-up as the other variants: un-hide manual hides and model groups, show model categories, hide annotation / analytical / import categories, and reset scope box, section box and crop.
- All temporary view modes are deactivated, so any temporary isolate is cleared as part of the full reset.
- Every Revit Link hidden in the view is brought back: the Revit Links master category is shown, hidden link instances are un-hidden, and their graphic overrides are cleared.
- The view zooms to fit, showing the full coordinated model.
Tips & Notes
- Use it to recover the complete coordinated view after a Without Links pass or a round of manual per-element hides.
- It runs up to four passes automatically, so nested groups that only surface after the first un-hide are cleaned too.
- Pair it with Without Links: hide the links to review the host model, then With All Links to bring the coordination back.
Limitations
- Affects the active view only.
- It cannot re-tick a per-link Visibility checkbox you unchecked manually in the V/G Revit Links tab; re-enable those links manually (Revit API gap).
- View filters are left untouched, the Revit API cannot neutrally disable a filter, so any filter-driven visibility remains.
- It deactivates all temporary view modes, so a temporary isolate you wanted to keep is cleared, unlike the Preserve and Without Links variants.
- Does not delete or modify model elements, it only changes what the view shows.
