    Clear Painted (By Selection)

    Overview

Clear Painted (By Selection) removes the Paint override only from faces you explicitly pick, instead of sweeping the whole view. It works through an add/remove picking loop: click Add Faces to accumulate painted faces into a working set, Remove Faces to pull faces back out, and Confirm & Clear to strip paint from exactly that set. The picker only lets you select faces that are actually painted, and a live count shows how many faces across how many elements are staged.

    How to use

    1. In the B45 Labs | Coordination tab, open the Model Management panel and click Clear Painted (By Selection).
    2. If you are not already in a 3D view, the command activates one, then shows a short prompt to pick painted faces.
    3. Click Add Faces and pick painted faces in the model — only faces that are actually painted can be selected.
    4. Optionally click Remove Faces to take faces back out of the working set; the dialog shows the running face and element count.
    5. Click Confirm & Clear and accept the confirmation to remove paint from just the staged faces.
    6. A summary reports how many faces across how many elements were cleared.

    Tips & Notes

    • The face filter only accepts painted faces, so you can't waste clicks on unpainted geometry — and in Remove mode it only accepts faces already in your set.
    • Build the set across as many Add / Remove rounds as you need; nothing is written to the model until you Confirm & Clear.
    • Faces on grouped elements are skipped to avoid Revit's Ungroup prompt — ungroup the element first if you need to clear those faces.

    Limitations

    • Acts only on the faces you pick; it does not sweep the whole view — use Clear All Painted Elements for a blanket cleanup.
    • Faces belonging to group members are not cleared.
    • Read-only models are rejected before the picking loop starts.
