Find
Overview
Find searches your documentation text across five element types at once — Text Notes, Room names, View names, Sheet names, and Tag text — over the entire project. Type a term and it returns every match; Previous and Next step through them and each result is selected and shown in the model as you move. The window is non-modal, so you keep navigating and editing in Revit while it stays open.
How to use
- In the B45 Labs | Coordination tab, open the Documentation panel and click Find.
- Type the text to search for and press Enter. The search runs project-wide across Text Notes, Room, View, Sheet, and Tag text and is not case-sensitive.
- Read the status line for the match count and the number of elements scanned.
- Use Previous and Next to walk the matches — each one is selected and shown in the current view.
Tips & Notes
- Use Find to audit terminology before an issuance — one search covers notes, tags, room, view, and sheet names together.
- It is read-only: run it on any model, even one you can't edit, to locate wording without risk. When you need to change the text, switch to Find and Replace.
Limitations
- Find covers Text Notes, Room names, View names, Sheet names, and Tag text — it does not read schedule cells, dimension text, keynotes, or text inside families or imported CAD.
