Sync Issue Date
Overview
Sync Issue Date reads the most recent revision on each sheet and writes that revision's date into a sheet parameter — SHEET_ISSUE_DATE by default, or any other writable text parameter you choose. It lists every sheet in the project in a non-modal preview showing its current value, the target date, and the latest revision, so you can confirm before applying. Narrow the list by Sheet Set or by an 'Appears on Sheet' parameter, tick exactly which sheets to update, and each write is its own transaction so a single failure doesn't stop the rest. Sheets with no revisions are skipped automatically.
How to use
- In the B45 Labs | Coordination tab, open the Documentation panel and click Sync Issue Date. The window is non-modal, so Revit stays interactive.
- Choose the target parameter to write — SHEET_ISSUE_DATE is selected by default; the preview refreshes to show that parameter's current value per sheet.
- Optional: filter the list by one or more Sheet Sets, or by the 'Appears on Sheet' parameter when it exists in the model.
- Review the preview: each row shows the sheet's current value, the target date taken from its latest revision, and that revision's label. Right-click a row and choose Open Sheet to jump to it.
- Tick the sheets you want to update — all are checked by default — then click Apply.
- Read the report: it lists how many sheets were updated and names any that were skipped.
Tips & Notes
- Run this right before an issuance so every sheet's Issue Date matches the revision actually going out.
- The target parameter isn't limited to Issue Date — point it at any writable text parameter to stamp a custom issue field.
- Sheets carrying no revision are dropped from the list automatically, so what you see is only what can change.
Limitations
- Only writable text (string) sheet parameters are offered — numeric and read-only parameters can't be targeted.
- The date is copied verbatim from the revision's Revision Date string; it does not reformat or re-localize the value.
